Agreement to these Terms

These Terms of Use are a binding agreement between you and Alef Labs (“Alef Labs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) concerning the Stix mobile application, website, and related services (together, “Stix”). By accessing or using Stix, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Stix.

If you use Stix for an organization, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organization. Mandatory consumer protections that apply where you live are not limited by these Terms.

Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 13 years old to use Stix. If the law where you live requires a higher age for you to consent to an online service, you may use Stix only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Stix is not directed to children under 13 and is not offered as a children’s service.

Stix may create an anonymous Firebase identity so you can try core features before registering. You may register using Apple or Google. You are responsible for activity under your account, for keeping access to your device and identity provider secure, and for promptly telling us about suspected unauthorized use.

Account features, content, credits, or settings associated with an anonymous identity may not be recoverable if you lose the device or clear its data. When supported, Stix may transfer eligible guest content or credits to the first registered account connected from that device.

AI generation and output

Stix uses artificial-intelligence systems to interpret prompts and images, generate sticker artwork, and evaluate output quality and safety. Before your first generation request, Stix asks for consent to send the material you submit to the processors described in our Privacy Policy. You may withdraw that consent for future requests, but generation will then be unavailable.

AI output may be inaccurate, unexpected, offensive despite our safeguards, or similar to content generated for someone else. We do not promise that output is unique, factually correct, suitable for a particular purpose, or free of third-party rights. Review every sticker before using, publishing, or sharing it.

Your content and licenses

You retain any rights you have in prompts, photographs, imported images, edits, sheet arrangements, and other material you submit (“Your Content”). You represent that you have the rights, permissions, and lawful basis needed to submit and use Your Content, including consent from identifiable people where required.

You grant Alef Labs a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, transform, process, transmit, display, and distribute Your Content only as needed to operate, secure, improve, and support Stix, fulfill your sharing or publishing requests, enforce these Terms, and comply with law. This license ends when the content is deleted, except for limited backups, legal obligations, content another user independently retains through an authorized sharing feature, and material needed to resolve a dispute.

To the extent the law permits rights in AI-generated output to belong to you, Alef Labs does not claim ownership of those rights. Copyright and other protection for AI output varies by jurisdiction, and you are responsible for determining whether and how you may use it.

Shared sheets and public features

Sheet owners may invite other Stix users as viewers or editors. Editors may add, move, edit, archive, or remove content according to the permissions shown in Stix. A sheet owner controls membership and may remove members or delete the sheet. Content shared with collaborators may remain visible to them until access or the content is removed.

A spatial hunt link and its sticker image may be available to anyone who receives the link. Stix does not expose precise placement coordinates through the public hunt response, but location and anchor information is processed to operate the hunt. Do not publish content or links you expect to remain confidential.

You may report offensive generated or shared content and block abusive users using the controls in Stix. We may review reports, restrict visibility, remove content, suspend accounts, or preserve relevant records when reasonably necessary for safety, enforcement, or law.

Credits, purchases, and refunds

Stix uses consumable credits for generation features. The number of credits charged is displayed in the app and may vary by request type. Credits have no cash value, are not transferable except through an expressly supported feature, and cannot be redeemed outside Stix.

Purchases are processed through the store where you obtained Stix. That store’s billing terms apply. Except where required by law or store policy, completed credit purchases are final. Stix automatically restores credits charged for a generation job that fails under the conditions shown in the app.

Deleting your account permanently removes unused credits and they cannot be recovered. Nothing in this section limits statutory cancellation, refund, or consumer rights that cannot legally be waived.

Acceptable use

You may use Stix only lawfully and in a way that respects other people and the integrity of the service. We may use automated filters and human review, but you remain responsible for your conduct and content.

• Do not create, upload, share, or request sexual abuse material, sexual content involving minors, non-consensual intimate imagery, credible threats, instructions for serious wrongdoing, or content that unlawfully promotes violence, hatred, harassment, or discrimination.
• Do not infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy, publicity, personality, or other rights; impersonate another person; or submit someone’s sensitive personal information without authority.
• Do not use Stix to stalk, locate, endanger, deceive, or exploit anyone, or place spatial content on private, restricted, unsafe, or unlawful property.
• Do not bypass safety systems, probe or disrupt the service, scrape at scale, automate requests without written permission, resell access, manipulate credits, or introduce malicious code.

Location and augmented reality safety

Spatial features use your camera, precise location, and device-supported augmented-reality services. Location and anchors can be inaccurate, unavailable, or change over time. Remain aware of traffic, obstacles, people, property rules, weather, and your surroundings. Never trespass, enter a dangerous area, or use Stix while driving.

You are responsible for choosing safe, lawful placements. We may expire, recall, or remove a spatial placement, including after a safety report, and cannot guarantee that an anchor or hunt will remain available.

Third-party services

Stix interoperates with identity, app-store, messaging, and sharing services described in our Privacy Policy. Their own terms may apply. Publishing or sharing through Telegram, WhatsApp, or another external service is your instruction to send the selected content to that service.

Alef Labs does not control third-party services and is not responsible for their independent availability, content, security, or practices.

Suspension, termination, and deletion

You may stop using Stix at any time and may request account deletion from the account controls or the instructions at getstix.app/delete-account. Deletion is irreversible and removes your profile, owned content, memberships, push tokens, remaining credits, and eligible associated records, subject to limited legal, fraud-prevention, security, and backup retention described in our Privacy Policy.

We may restrict or suspend access, remove content, or terminate an account if we reasonably believe you violated these Terms, created risk or harm, failed to pay, abused the service, or if action is required by law. Where appropriate, we will provide notice or an opportunity to appeal by contacting us.

Service changes and availability

We may change, add, or discontinue features and may impose reasonable limits needed for security, capacity, cost, or compliance. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, permanent storage, successful generation, or continued compatibility with a device or third-party platform. Keep independent copies of content that matters to you.

Disclaimers and liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stix is provided “as is” and “as available.” Alef Labs disclaims implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, and uninterrupted availability. These exclusions do not apply where prohibited by law.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Alef Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, loss of profits, data, goodwill, or opportunities, or harm arising from AI output, user content, third-party services, spatial activity, or unauthorized account access. Alef Labs’ aggregate liability relating to Stix will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid for Stix during the twelve months before the claim or US$50. This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited.

Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect changes to Stix, law, safety practices, or providers. We will update the effective date and provide additional notice in the app when a material change requires it. Continued use after an update takes effect means you accept the revised Terms, unless law requires another form of consent.
